Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the only celebrity to have transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become a global pop culture icon. Swift shed the country influences like they were an extra layer of skin, revealing she was one of the finest singers/songwriters from the generation she was born into. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use the moment to benefit. Swift's first hits, particularly their neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But her 2008 album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was beginning to discover herself, and gaining a huge following. Fearless had a great success not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. However, it did very well across the globe. Swift reached the heights of the charts with Speak Now. She grew in popularity through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. In the end, when she refocused her music with the stripped-down releases of 2020, folklore and Evermore however, she remained on top. It was a position that was confirmed through re-recordings of her previous catalog, as along with Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
