She grew in popularity through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. In the end, when she refocused her music with the stripped-down releases of 2020, folklore and Evermore however, she remained on top. It was a position that was confirmed through re-recordings of her previous catalog, as along with Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
