Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from the savage realities of daily life. She was writing songs before she was able to read or write. In the year she turned 8 at the time, she purchased her first electric guitar and began singing for the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Her first album was recorded in the same calendar year Gold Band Records, a small, independent label. As a student in high school, she became famous locally but dreamed about a larger stage. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first track to hit the charts for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing on his show. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. She left the show in 1974 when her solo music, including Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner, wrote"I Will Never Love You and had it reach Number. Its first appearance at Number 1 was in 1974.
