Seasons 1-8 are when shippers put bids on two shipments on UShip in a reverse auction format. The bids are usually accompanied by statements about the likely costs and potential risks in addition to the motivations and capabilities. If the deadline is reached for an auction the job is awarded to the bidder who has the lowest bid. It is at the discretion of the client, however it could be awarded to a bidder with a higher average feedback rating than previous clients. If the bidder is lowest all ties are broken by feedback ratings. Season 9 will see shippers receive their loads through a shipping agent. The bidding process isn’t shown. Shippers load their cargo and attempt to deliver it in perfect condition within the timeframe set by the recipient or the client. When the cargo is delivered, clients leave feedback ratings. The show concludes by calculating each shipper's revenues and expenses. The amount of the bid is subtracted in order to calculate the overall profit and loss. At times, a shipper may arrange to transport an additional load during the same trip with the extra money figured into their total. The shipper may not be able to finish the task due to safety or the size of the load. Sometimes, one of the shippers will employ the assistance of another shipper in order to complete a job. The shippers then determine what they'll do with profits. In seasons 1-8 the progress of each ship is interspersed with humorous criticisms from other shippers.
